Rules and Conditions that apply to our operation at The Cook - Cafe & Bar

Licensing

We are a supervised area, which means you must be over 18 years of age to be on our premises. People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Not a teacher, coach, uncle, or family friend or sister. Anyone under 25 will be asked for ID and you must be able to produce a drivers license, passport, or 18+ Hospitality NZ ID card. They are the only three forms we are legally able to accept. Nothing else.

You can not bring in your own alcohol to The Cook. If you are intoxicated we will have to get you to leave. It is an offence for us to have, and allow someone to become, intoxicated people on our premises.

  • Intoxicated people will not be served and removed from the building.
  • If you behaviour is having a negative impact on other customers, you will be asked to leave.

 


Grab-One Vouchers

These are for dine in only. You Must book before using a Grab-one voucher using the online booking on the website - click here. Grab-One Vouchers are not valid on show nights (including comedy and specialty quiz nights) and public holidays


Function Cash Back Offer

If you book in an end of year function at The Cook on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and have a total spend over $1000.00 we will give you $200.00 cash back. No other specials or vouchers can be used in conjunction with this offer. Not valid on Bartercard, sorry.


Vouchers

No change is given on vouchers, however you can join the Cook Rewards program and transfer the unused balance to points. This does not apply to Grab One Vouchers

All vouchers have an expiry on them, if you have a voucher, and can not redeem it prior to the valid date, please call to make an arrangement at least one week prior to the expiry date. Extensions will be made on a case by case merit judgement.

Hamilton Half Marathon - Volunteers vouchers discounts are for the volunteer only and are not applied to a group. The Volunteer's name is on the back of the card. The card can be used on multiple occasions


Touch

Player of the Day vouchers can not be combined, they are for food and beverages and no change is given. There will be no extension of the seven day expiry date. The Player of the Day vouchers can not be used in conjunction with any other voucher

 


Cook Rewards

Each products points ratio may differ, although they are based on a 5% discount:

  • Points may not be accrued on some special items
  • Points cannot be exchanged for cash

 


Bookings

If you have booked a table we will hold it for you until the time of the booking. If you are unable to use the mezzanine floor please let us know at the time of the booking. All licensing rules apply at all times including private functions

 


The Cook's New Sports Tipping Comp

  • Starts 21 February
  • Finishes End of the Super 15
  • 8 Fixtures per week
  • Weekly $20.00 Jackpot for 8/8 correct selections
  • All paid up tippers get a free handle of tap beer each week plus any tipper who beats the nominated tippers score receives another free handle of tap beer. This is non-accruing and collected before the first game of the new round
  • At the end of the competition there will be prizes for 1st second and third, plus a spot prize draw for 10 mystery prizes
  • There will be a range of sports selected
  • Motor Racing fixtures are selected on the MOTOR Manufacture
  • A win is one point a draw is two points, and all fixtures are marked as at the end of regulation play
  • If you miss one week, you will get the average score minus one for the first time you miss and minus two for the second time
  • Fixtures and points table will be on The Cook's website: www.thecook.net.nz
  • All tipping competition members receive a preferential pricing on tap beer handles and selected wine
  • Entry $25.00

 


Last Man Standing

Starts 11th April and finishes at the end of the Super XV.

  • Pick one Super XV team a week that you think will win.
  • You can't pick that team again for the rest of the competition.
  • If your team doesn't win - you're out!
  • $10.00 in - WINNER Takes All

If the last round has multiple people in it then the prize pool is split, half going to the people in the last round and half of it will jackpot to the next round. If someone wants to come in on an additional round then they will pay the entry from the previous rounds and this goes into the Jackpot Pool. There will not be a new round 6 weeks out from the end of the Super XV.

 

There is no surcharge on public holidays, however we do usually run a lower staff ratio.
